Milestone plane crash: Death toll rises to 27, bodies of 6 unidentified

The death toll in the Milestone School and College plane crash has risen to 27. All the deceased, except a pilot and a teacher, were students. Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Dr. Sayedur Rahman gave this information at a briefing on Tuesday (July 22) morning. He said that 8 people died at the National Burn Institute on Monday night. 5 are still in the ICU. 78 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the capital, all of whom are in critical condition, said Dr. Sayedur. Blood will be needed from today. He urged blood donors to be ready for this. The Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor said that the bodies of 6 of the deceased have not yet been identified. Dr. Sayedur mentioned that all but 2 of the 27 deceased were children. Earlier, on Monday (July 22) at around 1:18 pm, an F-7 BJI model training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in Diyabari, Uttara. The aircraft immediately caught fire. Immediately after this, members of the Fire Service, Army, Air Force and Navy started rescue work there. It is known that classes of junior students of the school were going on in the building of the educational institution where the Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed. Classes of nursery, one, two, three classes are held in that building of the junior section. The warplane hit the building directly. It is known that there were 100-150 students in the building. In addition, classes from nursery to seventh grade were going on in the school branch at that time. The accident occurred at a time when the school was about to be closed or closed. When the aircraft suddenly crashed with a loud noise, the students and teachers panicked. Parents also rushed to the news. According to the ISPR, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara. The aircraft took off at 1:06 pm. The aircraft is said to have flown for about 13 minutes. The government has declared a one-day state mourning on Tuesday (July 22) in this accident.
