Metrorail to remain closed for 40 minutes on December 16
Dhaka Metrorail services will remain closed for 40 minutes on Tuesday (December 16) for the Parajump event organized to mark Bangladesh’s Victory Day. Metrorail operator, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced this information in a statement published on its verified Facebook page today (December 15).
DMTCL said that the Parajump will be held at the Tejgaon Old Airport area on the occasion of the great Victory Day, so the Metrorail services will be temporarily closed from 11:50 am to 12:30 pm on December 16 for the safety of the paratroopers.
This decision has been taken due to the formalities and security of Victory Day. The concerned authorities find it necessary to close the Metrorail services during this period to ensure the safety of the paratroopers landing in the sky during the Parajump and to avoid possible risks. DMTCL sincerely apologizes for the temporary inconvenience caused to the passengers. Authorities have said that metro rail operations will resume once the situation normalizes at the end of the scheduled period.
