Mehedi in top 10, Taskin, Rishad, Tanjim, Hasan in career best rankings.

The good news came for Bangladesh’s bowlers after whitewashing West Indies in the three-match T20 series on their own soil. Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Rishad Hossain, Tanjim Hasan Shakib and Hasan Mahmud have improved their career best rankings together. All of them have received career best ratings.

For the first time, Mehedi has reached the top 10 in the T20 bowlers’ ranking. Taskin’s name is just beside him. Besides, Rishad and Hasan are in the top 25. Along with four of them, Tanjim Hasan has also reached the career best position.

The highest governing body of world cricket, ICC, published the weekly update of the men’s ranking on Wednesday. In this series, Mehedi took 8 wickets at an average of just 5.75 and a cost of 4.18 runs per over. The 30-year-old all-rounder also won the Man of the Series award for scoring 37 runs with the bat. This star bowler has moved up 13 places to number 10 in the list of bowlers. He has 636 rating points next to his name.

Taskin has also moved up 13 places after taking 7 wickets at a cost of less than seven runs per over in the series. He is now at number 11 with a rating of 630.

In the same series, Rishad picked up 6 wickets at less than six runs an over. He has vaulted 21 places to reach number 17 with a rating of 621. Hasan, meanwhile, snared 4 wickets at just 5.08 runs an over and has vaulted 23 places. He now sits at number 24 on a rating of 597.

The other pacer, Tanjim, meanwhile, gained 16 places to tie at number 45 along with Scotland’s Mark Watt with a rating of 517.
Another Bangladesh pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, slipped seven places to number 26 as he did not go on the West Indies tour owing to his leave. The list is headed by Akil Hossain of West Indies.

Mehidy also gained in the allrounder rankings. He leaped 10 places into number 30. Like among the bowlers, among the allrounders also he is the top Bangladeshi. India’s Hardik Pandya is first in this list.

Among batters, there is no Bangladeshi player in the top thirty. Australia’s Travis Head retains the first position.
