Mainia Youth Forum’s 2nd National Council and Youth Assembly Concludes.
The 2nd National Council and Youth Assembly of the non-political voluntary organization, Mainia Youth Forum, concluded at the Engineers Institution in Dhaka with a pledge to create a mass movement against drugs, extremism, terrorism, corruption, and violence against women. The council, held on Saturday, January 11, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in two sessions, was presided over by Shahzada Syed Mehbub-e-Mainuddin Al-Hasani, the President of the Mainia Youth Forum. The program began with a recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem.
The chief guest, Dr Sayed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani , founder and patron of the Mainia Youth Forum, praised the organization for its remarkable contributions in the past. He highlighted their efforts in environmental protection, combating drug abuse, child marriage, and violence against women, as well as their support during natural disasters and humanitarian crises. He proudly noted that the organization has received international awards in recognition of its achievements.
Addressing the youth, Dr Sayed Saifuddin Ahmed Al-Hasani emphasized the need to illuminate a morally declining society with the light of Sufism by building the moral character of young people. He urged them to establish ethical values in society and engage in humanitarian service with greater vigor. He also encouraged young individuals to acquire skills through training in information technology and other fields to build capable and relevant leadership. He concluded by wishing the forum continued success.
In the second session, the election commission dissolved the previous committee and, with the unanimous consent of the councilors, submitted the names of the newly elected leaders for the next three years to the chief guest, Shahzada Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani, for announcement. The chief guest declared the names of the new leadership team and commended the former committee’s dedicated efforts. He expressed hope that the new committee would bring innovative leadership.
The newly elected leaders include Shahzada Sayed Mashuk Mainuddin Al Hasani as President, Akbar Hossain Rubel as General Secretary, and Junaid Siddiqui as Organizational Secretary.
The event featured distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of Global University of Bangladesh; Professor Sheikh Dr. Darfufi from Morocco, Dr. Alexa and Kinfaer, researchers from the International Association of Sufism in the United States; and Mr. Taha Cheema, leader of a youth social service organization from Germany.
Among the attendees and speakers were Professor Dr. Shah Monju, Executive Director of Bidrohi the Nazrul Center; Md. Ataullah Khan Ata, a cultural figure and General Secretary of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Sufi Society; and other notable personalities who acknowledged the forum’s humanitarian contributions.
