LPG traders’ strike called off
The strike called by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) traders has been called off. It was called off after a meeting with the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Thursday (January 8). LP Gas Traders Cooperative Society Limited President Salim Khan confirmed this information.
Three demands were raised in the meeting. The demands are – stopping the ongoing administrative activities across the country, increasing the charges of distributors and retailers, and ensuring uninterrupted supply.
Salim Khan said that they have to pay more than Tk 1,300 to buy cylinders from operators. Therefore, it is not possible for them to sell 12 kg cylinders for less than Tk 1,500.
