LP gas price hiked by Tk 387 in one go

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been fixed at the consumer level. The price of a 12-kg cylinder has been increased from Tk 1,341 to Tk 1,728 for the current month of April. This is a monthly price increase of about 28.9 percent.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the new price at a press conference today (April 2). The new price will be effective from this evening. According to the new price, the price of LPG has been fixed at Tk 144 per kg. Accordingly, the price of 5.5 kg to 45 kg cylinders will increase from Tk 792 to Tk 6,482, the regulatory body said.
In addition, the price of autogas has been increased from Tk 61.83 to Tk 79.77. The commission adjusts the price of LPG every month, considering the Saudi CP price and the exchange rate in the international market.
