Low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, warning signal at 4 seaports.

The low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal has condensed into a low pressure, which is located about 2,000 kilometers away from the coast of Bangladesh. Due to the rough sea there, the country’s four seaports have been asked to display distant warning signal number 1.

This information was given in the special weather bulletin number 2 signed by meteorologist Dr. Md. Bazlur Rashid on Tuesday.

It said that the low pressure located in the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas has moved west-northwestward and is currently located in the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas. It was located 2060 km south-southwest of Chittagong Seaport, 1995 km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar Seaport, 1995 km south-southwest of Mongla Seaport and 1970 km south-southwest of Payra Seaport on Monday midnight. It may move further west-northwestwards and intensify further.

The maximum sustained wind speed within 44 km of the depression is 40 kmph, increasing to 50 kmph in gusts or squalls. The sea is rough in the area near the depression.

In this situation, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display distant warning signal number 1 (number one).

At the same time, all fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to navigate carefully near the coast until further notice.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the country’s inland river ports until 1 pm on Tuesday said that the visibility may be 700 meters or less in some places due to light to moderate fog in the country’s river basins within the next 3 to 4 hours from 5 am. Vessels in these areas have been asked to navigate carefully, but no signals need to be shown.

Another weather forecast given until 6 pm said that the weather across the country may remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate fog may fall in some places across the country from late night to dawn.

In addition, the day temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country. However, the night temperature may decrease slightly, the Meteorological Department said.
