    Liverpool beat Real Madrid 5-5.

Liverpool beat Real Madrid 2-0. Arna Slott’s men continued their 100% winning streak by defeating the holders in the UEFA Champions League.

The English club tasted victory against Real Madrid after more than 15 years on Wednesday night at home to Anfield. Where Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty after Alexis Mac Alliste put the hosts ahead at the start of the second half. Mohamed Salah had the same experience ten minutes later. However, substitute Cody Huckabee scored Liverpool’s second goal.

Liverpool’s last victory against Real was also at Anfield. In March 2009, Liverpool advanced to the quarter-finals by winning 4-0 in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League, leading 5-0 on aggregate. Since then, Liverpool have lost seven of the eight meetings between the two teams, drawing one; all in the Champions League, including two finals.

Real, who were without Vinicius Junior due to injury, failed to score a single goal in the first half, taking five shots on goal. Three of Liverpool’s six were on target during this period, all of which were saved by Courtois.

After the break, Mac Alistair gave Liverpool a rousing start in the 52nd minute. He passed Bradley outside the box and entered. The Argentine midfielder received a return pass and found the address with a low shot, avoiding the obstacle of a defender.

Then, in the 59th minute, the referee blew the whistle for a penalty when Lucas Vazquez was fouled in the box by Liverpool’s Andy Robertson. Mbappe’s weak spot-kick was saved by Irish goalkeeper Kevin Kelleher.

Liverpool also won a penalty in the 69th minute when Salah was brought down in the box by Real defender Ferland Mendy. But the Egyptian forward missed the opportunity to increase the gap by hitting it wide.

However, in the 76th minute, Hakpo, who had been substituted eight minutes earlier, made it even more difficult for Real to turn the tables. The unprotected Dutch forward jumped into the box and headed home Robertson’s cross.

Finally, Liverpool could leave the field with a smile of victory. The team, which is in great shape under Slott’s coaching, has won all five matches this season and has risen to the top with 15 points. However, Real lost three of its five matches in its campaign to retain the title. Carlo Ancelotti’s team has dropped to 24th place with 6 points.
