    Lightning killed 6 people in SylhetSylhetLightning killed 6 people in Sylhet

    6 people died in Sylhet due to lightning. This incident took place in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts yesterday Saturday night and Sunday morning. Among them, 2 people died in Sunamganj’s Doarabazar, 1 each in Jamalganj and Chat and 1 each in Sylhet’s Companyganj and Biswanath.

    Eyewitnesses said that Jalal Mia (30) and Jasim Uddin (28) went fishing in the haor next to their house in Polirachar village of Pandargaon union of Doarabazar upazila of Sunamganj at 7 am today. At that time they died due to lightning.

    On the other hand, 1 person died due to lightning in Chatak Upazila of Sunamganj. He is Sundar Ali, a resident of Mallikpur village of Sadar Union of Upazila. Locals said that he died due to lightning while fishing this morning.

    Apart from this, a jailer named Sharif Mia (35) died in Jamalganj yesterday at 12:30 pm on Saturday. He is a resident of Kalagoja village of the upazila. He was killed by lightning while fishing in Naya Haor near his home.

    Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Doarabazar and Jamalganj police stations confirmed the death of four jailers in the lightning strike.

    A young man named Masuk Ahmed (41) died due to lightning in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet. The incident took place at Madhya Rajnagar village of Purba Islampur Union of the upazila around 10 am on Sunday. The deceased Masuk is a resident of Madhya Rajnagar village.

    According to local and police sources, this morning, Masuk Ahmed went to cut grass for the cows at Hawar near his house. He died on the spot due to lightning.

    On the other hand, Redwan Ahmad (22), a student of Murarichand College (MC) was killed by lightning while fishing in Vishwanath, Sylhet. This incident took place in Saril village of Dasghar union of Biswanath upazila this morning. The deceased Redwan is a resident of Saril village of Dasghar union. At that time, his younger brother Sufian Ahmed who was with Redwan was injured by lightning.
