Liberation War and 24′ – Both must be respected: Finance Minister
Newly appointed Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, the Liberation War is the war of the birth of the country and 24′ is the war to overthrow our dictatorship and restore democratic order. Therefore, both have values. They must be respected. He said this while talking to reporters while paying tribute at the National Memorial today, Wednesday (February 18).
The Finance Minister said, Liberation War instead of Liberation War, 24 instead of 24. This is not a contradiction of one with the other. Therefore, this country was born on the basis of the Liberation War and our first responsibility is to respect those who made sacrifices, so we come here again and again. We remember them on any occasion.
He also said, after the country became a country, there have been many movements, revolutions, people have given their lives, everyone must remember, no one can be left out. A country that does not have love for its people and cannot respect the proud children of the nation, has no chance of moving forward. Therefore, these are the core values of the country.
The Finance Minister said, “BNP is one of those who gave their lives for the country, freedom and democracy and fought uncompromisingly. There is no way to deny that a party is still fighting for democracy. Therefore, the Bangladesh that we fought for must be built in the interest of the people, in the interest of the country.”
