Lawyer alleges Jessore judge for traveling while skipping judicial work

A judge has been accused of traveling while leaving judicial duty in Jessore. Senior lawyer of Jessore and president of Nationalist Lawyers Forum, Advocate Debashish Das, has filed a written complaint with the Registrar of the Supreme Court in this regard. In the complaint filed today (August 18), he also mentioned negligence in the performance of duties by another judge. Advocate Debashish confirmed that the complaint was sent by post on Monday. The complaint states that on August 15 (Friday), Senior Judicial Magistrate Zubaida Rawshan Ara was in charge of conducting the judicial proceedings of the Jessore Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. On that day, from 11 am to 2 pm, about 30 accused were brought to the ground floor of the court building. More than a hundred people were present in the court premises. But the judge in charge went on a trip to Phulbagan in Gadkhali, Jhikargachha, instead of being in the court. He alleged that the fundamental rights of the accused and the common man have been violated. At that time, he also mentioned in the charge sheet that Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Laskar Sohel Rana was not performing his duties properly. Advocate Debashish Das also said that a few months ago, an accused escaped from the jail of the Jessore Judge’s Court in the afternoon. In addition, there has been an increase in various crimes including murder in Jessore recently. In this situation, he claimed that keeping the accused in the jail at night is a threat to security. Along with this, Advocate Debashish Das demanded that action be taken after investigating the entire matter. He said that the accused seeking trial and their relatives have suffered due to the irresponsibility of the judge. He also mentioned in the complaint about increasing security in the court.
