International law seems to be blind in Gaza
Daniel Levy, president of the US and Middle East Project, a research firm, said the effects of Israeli military aggression in Gaza and Lebanon will last for generations. He said international law in Gaza, in particular, “turns a blind eye.”
In an interview with Al Jazeera from London, Levy said, “The devastation and the suffering – even the polio vaccination program is not going without a hitch.” It seems that international law is blind. Levy complained that what Israel is doing is state acquisition.
However, from many parts of the world, this occupying state is being supported in this kind of occupation and aggression by giving money at the state and institutional level. Despite continued acquisitions in Gaza, there is no impact on international trade. This is why Israeli ministers are able to continue this occupation. Levy also talked about the role of the United Nations and Israel’s threats to the United Nations.
Meanwhile, northern Gaza has been under heavy attack this week. In these attacks, more than 50 children have been killed in Jabalia area only in the last 48 hours. In a statement, the United Nations Children’s Organization UNICEF said this information. The organization’s executive director, Catherine Russell, condemned the horrific attack in the statement.
Russell also said that UNICEF workers in the Jabaliya area received information about the attack on Saturday while carrying out a polio vaccination program. He said that suspected Israeli quadcopters attacked Jabalia. UNICEF executive director Catherine Russell also said that a car of UNICEF workers was damaged in the attack yesterday morning during the polio vaccination program. Fortunately, no workers were injured. He said that this incident has deeply injured him.
