Late Abul Kalam Azad’s wife Pia gets job in Metro Rail

After the bearing pad accident, deceased Abul Kalam Azad’s wife Irene Akhter Pia gets job in Metro Rail Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Faruk Ahmed confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday (October 30). He said that Irene Akhter Pia, wife of the late Abul Kalam Azad, will now be appointed as a computer operator. She will be promoted as an officer after completing her honorarium.
Earlier, last Sunday (October 26), pedestrian Abul Kalam Azad (35) died after a bearing pad fell from a pillar in front of the Bangladesh Krishibid Institute adjacent to the capital’s Farmgate Metro Station and hit his head.
Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Road Transport, Bridges and Railways, announced the formation of a five-member committee to investigate the incident. He also announced a compensation of 5 lakh taka to the family of the deceased Azad and a job in the Metrorail for a family member.
