Lahore buys Mustafizur Rahman for a huge price
Lahore Qalandars have directly signed Mustafizur Rahman for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The franchise has spent 64.4 million Pakistani rupees on it. In Bangladeshi currency, this is more than 28.1 million taka. They confirmed the deal through a post on social media today, Thursday (February 5).
Lahore Qalandars authorities said on their verified ‘X’ account, ‘Our Bangladeshi brother Mustafizur Rahman, who was taken in the team in 2016 and 2018, has been brought back to our family through a direct deal. Once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar. Mustafiz is getting 64.4 million Pakistani rupees in a direct deal.’
In the 2018 PSL, Fiz took 4 wickets in 5 matches at an economy rate of 6.43 in the Qalandars jersey. This time, the pacer could have given a tough time to the team. But Lahore did not give him that chance.
It is worth noting that Kolkata Knight Riders had signed Mustafizur Rahman for a record fee in this year’s IPL. But due to political tensions between the two countries, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ordered Mustafizur Rahman to be dropped from the IPL. As a result, Bangladesh refused to play the World Cup on Indian soil. Ultimately, the ICC dropped Bangladesh from the tournament and gave the opportunity to Scotland.
In continuation of this, there were rumors of Pakistan boycotting the World Cup, but they did not follow that path. Pakistan has only announced a boycott of the match against India in Colombo on February 15. This time, Bangladesh’s ‘cutter master’ has made a place in that Pakistani franchise league.
