Lack of accountability has completely destroyed the political structure in the last one and a half decades: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that democracy must be allowed to function properly, while there must be accountability in all areas. He said this at a discussion meeting at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Saturday (July 26). Mirza Fakhrul said that democracy has been systematically destroyed in the last 15 years. There has been extreme looting due to lack of accountability. He said that we must move towards a democratic process without delay. BNP believes in democracy and wants elections logically. The BNP Secretary General said that the current state structure and economy need qualitative changes. However, that is not possible in a day, it takes time. Mirza Fakhrul considers the issue of the new US trade tariffs as a potential negative for the country. He said that Trump’s tariffs are going to put us in great danger. To overcome this, it is important to specifically discuss with political parties.
