Khaleda Zia eager to return home soon

BNP Standing Committee member and Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, ‘Khaleda Zia is very eager to return to the country. Yesterday too, she said, let’s go back to Bangladesh quickly. The country is good for us.’

He said this at a prayer meeting organized on the occasion of the death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko at the Bricklane Mosque in Bangladeshi-dominated East London after Isha prayers on Tuesday local time.

AZM Zahid Hossain said, ‘Khaleda Zia was imprisoned for a long time in a false case of conspiracy to commit atrocities. We have conducted several tests on her, which were not possible here either. They (London Clinic) conducted them. But we have not received her reports yet. After receiving them, it will be decided how soon she will return to Bangladesh.’

Stating that the BNP leader is much healthier than before, he said, ‘Son Tarique Rahman and the wife of two sons, Dr. Khaleda Zia lives with her three granddaughters, including Zubaida Rahman and Sharmila Rahman. Normally, people are very cheerful when they are with their close relatives. With the relentless efforts of everyone, including doctors, she is much healthier than before. Her physical condition is very stable.’

This member of the BNP standing committee said, ‘We express our gratitude to everyone. You all have prayed for Khaleda Zia’s health.’

Dr. Zahid said that Khaleda Zia is mentally by your side and wants to be there for the restoration of democracy, no matter where the overall situation of the country is heading. ‘Just as she was uncompromising in restoring democracy before, she still thinks that democracy will return to the country quickly. People will get a democratic environment. Everyone will get the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.’
