Keraniganj multi-storey building still on fire, 45 people rescued

A fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Keraniganj Babubazar area of ​​Dhaka. 14 units of the fire service are working to control the fire. Firefighters have rescued 45 people from different floors of the building and shifted them to safe places. The fire service reached the spot at 5:45 am on Saturday (December 13) after receiving the news of the fire at 5:37 am and started work to control the fire. Fire Service Media Cell Inspector Anwarul Islam told the media.
He said that a fire broke out on the ground floor of a 12-storey building called Jamela Tower in Keraniganj Babubazar area. Upon receiving the news, a total of 14 units from Keraniganj, Sadarghat and Siddiq Bazar fire stations are working to control the fire. At around 8:30 am, Shahjahan Sikder, officer-in-charge of the Fire Service Media Cell, said that a total of 45 people have been rescued so far and brought down safely through various staircases. Firefighters are making every effort to bring the fire under control. Fire service officials were initially unable to determine the cause of the fire.
