Kamrul-Kamal-Atiq arrested in new case
Former Food Minister Kamrul Islam, former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, former Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam and former State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak have been shown arrested in separate police stations in the capital, focusing on the anti-discrimination movement.
They were brought to court this Monday morning. After that, the investigation officers of the case applied to show them arrested in these cases. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq showed them arrested.
Among them, Palak was shown arrested in the murder case of Sajedur Rahman Omar and Jahangir Alam of Jatrabari Police Station. Kamrul Islam, Kamal Ahmed Majumder were shown arrested in the murder case of Tariqul Islam Rubel of Kafrul Police Station, and Atiqul Islam and Kamrul Islam were shown arrested in the murder case of Sajid Hawlader of Badda Police Station.
Earlier, they were presented in court for the hearing of the case. Then the investigation officers of the case applied to show the arrest of Kamrul Islam, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Atiqul Islam.
On the other hand, the investigation officer of the case and inspector of the Anti-Terrorism Unit, Zafar Al Biswas, applied for a seven-day remand of Junaid Ahmed Palak. First, a hearing was held on the issue of showing the arrest of the accused. After the hearing, the court granted the application to show their arrest. Later, a hearing was held on the issue of Junaid Ahmed Palak’s remand. After the hearing, the accused were taken from the courtroom to the jail.
