Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury’s mother passes away, Chief Justice mourns

Begum Sitara Chowdhury, mother of Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and wife of former High Court Division judge late A.F.M. Abdur Rahman Chowdhury, has passed away. She passed away at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday (August 6) while undergoing treatment at the Square Hospital in the capital. She was suffering from various old-age related diseases. She was 88 years old at the time of her death. She was born on December 14, 1937, in a respectable Muslim family. The Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Honorable Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed, has expressed deep shock at her death and expressed deep condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family members. Begum Sitara Chowdhury has left behind countless loving and appreciative people in her family and society in her colorful life. She was the mother of two sons and two daughters. His elder son Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury is currently a judge of the Appellate Division. His younger son Dr. Riazur Rahman Chowdhury is a professor of the Department of Accounting at Dhaka University. His funeral prayers will be held at Taqwa Mosque in Dhanmondi after Zohr on Thursday (August 7) and he will be buried at Banani Graveyard later.
