July martyr’s sister appeals to the Prime Minister for a referendum

The sister of a martyred fighter has now come forward demanding the implementation of the spirit of the July Uprising. She has appealed for the formulation of a ‘July Charter’ and the implementation of a referendum to fulfill the demands achieved through the sacrifices and blood of the movement. This appeal has once again brought to the fore the questions of the goals, achievements and unfulfilled promises of the mass uprising. She made this appeal while talking to the media recently.
The sister of July martyr said, I am my brother, we who came to the movement, we are making mistakes. We will not come to give our lives for the country again. No one will give our lives for the country. There is no one in my mother’s world except me. When I leave the house, my mother is always afraid. I never see anyone standing by my mother. I never see anyone standing by me.
She said, I have no brother, I call him, but my brother does not pick up the phone. My mother calls him, we wait for the phone. We don’t see anyone to look after us, everyone is busy like everyone else. We were waiting for the July Charter and the referendum with great hopes. You shouldn’t waste them.
When asked what our request is to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, he said, he should present our July Charter and the referendum in the parliament. Brother, don’t let it be wasted. Everything is in your hands. You just sit in the parliament. You do something.
He also said, you (Tareq Rahman) were calling me sister, you might not have noticed. I met you at the Agricultural Institute. You called me, I talked to you a lot. Where is my brother, no one came to meet my mother. Finally, the martyr’s sister said, we made a mistake by joining the movement. We will not come to give our lives for the country again. No one will give their lives for the country. Think about your parents and siblings.
