Jubo Dal leader threatened Azhari to leave the country.
Popular Islamic speaker Mizanur Rahman Azhari has been warned by Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Dal member secretary Sajjadul Miraj to leave the country. He said this at a workers’ meeting organized by Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station in the capital on Sunday.
The video of the warning to leave Azhari has gone viral on social media. Jubo Dal leader Sajjadul Miraj said, “Mizanur Rahman Azhari speaks against BNP. Where does he get so much courage? Are people all over Bangladesh crying for this Mizanur Rahman Azhari? When the autocratic Sheikh Hasina deported (him) to Malaysia, we all regret it.”
He said, “Didn’t we regret it when Jamaat was beaten up on October 28? Didn’t we work together? Why are there so many conspiracies to seize power? Whoever comes to vote, the vote will be held. Whoever wins, wins.’
Calling on Azhari to express his regret, the Jubo Dal leader said, ‘He (Azhari) must express his regret. Because he wears a cap on his head, speaks in the name of Allah to people regardless of party affiliation. You should stop speaking in the name of Jamaat. Otherwise, the people of this country hold these mahfils, and you will be the victim of a mob.’
Warning Azhari to leave the country, Sajjadul Miraj said, ‘This worshipper likes BNP, likes other organizations. But don’t shout slogans in the name of Allah, talk about religion, wear a cap on your head, and criticize BNP. Then you will be the victim of a mob. Again, you can emigrate at any moment. So be careful.’
Relatively, Mizanur Rahman Azhari said at a Tafsirul Quran Mahfil organized in Jessore recently, ‘One group is eating, the other group is ready to eat.’ He said this at one stage while comparing the situation of Bangladesh with developed countries. Although he did not mention the name of any party, many BNP leaders and activists criticized his statement. Sajjadul Miraj spoke on that issue this time.
