Journalist Tuhin murder: One accused confesses to the court

Shahjalal, among the 7 accused arrested in the murder of journalist Tuhin in Gazipur, has given a confessional statement to the court. On Monday (August 11), the 7 accused arrested in the murder of journalist Tuhin were taken to the court of Judge Omar Haider of Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3 of Gazipur under tight security. They were taken to the court after being remanded for two days by the police. Inspector Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury of Gazipur Metropolitan Court said that the accused Shahjalal confessed to the murder and gave a confessional statement to the court. Later, the court sent all 7 to jail. Earlier, on Saturday (August 9), they were presented in the court of Gazipur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Alamgir Al Mamun and a 10-day remand application was made. After the hearing, the court granted a two-day remand to each of them and ordered them to be taken into police custody. Earlier, in a press briefing on Saturday afternoon, Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim Khan said that CCTV footage analysis has found evidence of the direct involvement of 8 people in Tuhin’s murder. The commissioner said, “Tuhin was killed because he was making videos of the misdeeds of the honeytrap gang members. Their trial will be ensured very soon.”
