The joint forces will take immediate action after the attack by pirates on the police camp in Gazaria, Munshiganj, Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said. He said this in response to questions from reporters at the inauguration of the re-excavation work of Shubhadhya Canal in Keraniganj on Tuesday (August 26). At the time, the Home Affairs Advisor told reporters that the joint forces will take immediate action after the attack on the police camp in Gazaria, Munshiganj with looted weapons. Earlier, on Monday (August 25), a group of pirates opened fire on police personnel patrolling a temporary camp in Munshiganj. The police returned fire in self-defense. The gunfight between the two sides lasted for about thirty minutes. No one has been arrested in the incident so far. At this time, warning that the canal encroachers will not be given any concessions, the Home Affairs Advisor said, “There are a large number of land grabbers in this area (Shubhadhya Canal area). Everyone must fight back. They must be dealt with sternly. This area is the prison. Arrangements will be made to keep these land grabbers in their own area’s jail. Local resistance must be built against canal polluters and encroachers.”
