Janata Bank Manager Missing with Crores of Taka

Janata Bank Pakshi Branch Manager Khaled Saifullah in Ishwardi, Pabna has gone missing with Tk 1.30 crore. He has not been found since he left the bank with cash on Sunday afternoon (October 5).
The bank authorities have filed a GD in this incident with Ishwardi Police Station. The missing bank manager Khaled Saifullah (45) is the son of Abdul Gafur Sheikh of Hospital Road, Ishwardi Municipality.
Janata Bank Ishwardi Corporate Branch Assistant General Manager Md. Mohsanatul said that Pakshi Branch Manager Khaled Saifullah called him on Saturday (October 4) and told him that he needed Tk 13 lakh. On Sunday (October 5) morning, he came to Ishwardi Corporate Branch to send cash. At 11:15 am, Khaled Saifullah withdrew Tk 30 lakh from Janata Bank’s Dashuria Bazar branch. Later, Ishwardi came to the corporate branch and received another Tk 1 crore in cash from the Pakshi branch at 11:35 am. Ansar member Mahbub was with him during the money transfer.
After filling out the necessary vouchers and signing the register, at 11:45 am, Khaled Saifullah and Ansar member Mahbub left for the Pakshi branch in a private car with Tk 1 crore 30 lakh. The driver of the car was Md. Ismail Hossain. However, although he reached the branch and said that he would deposit the money, his mobile phone was found switched off.
Later in the afternoon, it was learned that Khaled Saifullah had not yet reached the branch. Panicked by this situation, bank officials contacted the local police station and filed a GD at Ishwardi police station.
Shahinur Rahman, manager of Janata Bank’s Dashuria branch, said that at 11:15 am, Pakshi branch manager Khaled Saifullah withdrew Tk 30 lakh from the Dashuria branch.
Ansar member Mahbub, who was with the missing bank official, said, “After withdrawing money from the bank, he came in front of Ishwardi BRAC Bank and dropped me off in a private car. I got out of the car as he asked. Then he took the car and left.”
Manager Khaled Saifullah’s wife Dilruba Begum said, “We have learned about my husband’s disappearance from the bank authorities. His mobile phone was found switched off. We are not sure whether he went somewhere voluntarily or someone kidnapped him.”
Ishwardi Police Station OC Abdun Noor confirmed the GD and said, “We have learned about the withdrawal of money from the bank through the authorities. They have filed a general diary. The matter will be investigated and legal action will be taken.”
