Jamaat Ameer’s statement on achieving true liberation

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that true liberation will be achieved only when the imam of prayers becomes the imam of the society. The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer said these things at the joint Imam-Khatib National Conference held at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Sunday (November 23). Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We do not want to see our imams and khatibs being the object of anyone’s pity. The real dignity of khatibs and imams must be given to them.”
He said, “When we are alive, you (imams-khatibs) lead the prayers, we stand behind. When we leave this world, you (imams-khatibs) are still our imams. The only exception is this. When you are alive, we stand behind you. And when you leave this world, you stand in front of our dead bodies. You are imams in life and death. We want to pay lifelong respect to you from the bottom of our hearts.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) built the mosque after receiving the responsibility from Almighty Allah and established the mosque with dignity according to the will of Almighty Allah, the Ameer of Jamaat said, ‘At that time, there was no separate cabinet building and there was no separate office of the President or Prime Minister. All orders were given from the Prophet’s Mosque. People of different religions and beliefs used to come to him, representatives from all over the world. He would meet all of them in the Prophet’s Mosque. He would consult with the Ahlul-Ra’id about all the activities of the state in the Prophet’s Mosque. The era, the Prophet’s Mosque and the mosques have been given dignity. And the society that was created around this mosque was the best society in the world. And about the society that was created around the Prophet’s Mosque, Allah Almighty has said with a certificate on behalf of the Almighty, ‘O people of the world, know that today I have created a social system based on the Book of Allah, which is the best society in the world.’ No such society has been created before. No such society will be created in the future.’
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘Therefore, the social system that will be created by following that society will sit on the seat of excellence in the world. The society that will be created with any ideology, tantra and mantra created by the mind, excluding the society of the Prophet, will not be able to give peace or respect to the world from Allah. This is a proven fact. No matter what continent, country or region it is in the world, this is a proven fact.’
He also said, ‘Bangladesh is a country of 90 percent Muslims. 90 percent of Muslims in this country believe in Allah. We believe in the Quran of Allah and accept the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as the last Prophet. Law will be established in this country, God willing. Until our country reaches this position, we will not be able to establish a truly humane society in this country.’
The Amir Jamaat said, ‘The Quran does not only guarantee the dignity of man. It does not guarantee rights. The Quran guarantees the rights of all living beings. Of course, just as people of all religions enjoyed full religious freedom, civil security and rights in Medina, so too, if that social system in our beloved country is established on the basis of the laws and regulations given by Allah, the Almighty God, then those rights will be established.’
