Jamaat Ameer taken to hospital

Bangladesh Jamaat Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been taken to hospital for bypass surgery. He has been diagnosed with 5 heart blocks. He was taken to a private hospital in the capital on Saturday (August 2) morning. He was accompanied by Jamaat Secretary General, Nayebe Ameer and other top leaders. After suddenly falling ill after participating in Jamaat’s national rally held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on July 19, the Ameer-e-Jamaat was immediately admitted to a local private hospital. Doctors did not find any major complications in the initial examination that day, but thought he was suffering from dehydration. After that, various tests were conducted on him continuously. The examination revealed 5 heart blocks in Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Out of these blocks, 3 are more serious and two are about 50 percent blocks. Doctors are performing bypass surgery to remove the three serious blocks. Earlier, the medical board formed to treat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman had advised him to seek treatment abroad. However, he decided to seek treatment in the country instead of seeking treatment abroad. He also said that he took this decision to restore the trust of the general public in the country’s medical treatment.
