Jamaat Ameer Suffers from Heart Disease

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, who is suffering from heart disease, has been admitted to the hospital. Multiple sources in the party have confirmed that he has been diagnosed with a block in three main blood vessels of his heart. He was admitted to a private hospital in the capital on Wednesday (July 30) night. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad told Soyo Sangbad that the Jamaat Ameer has been diagnosed with several blocks in his heart. Doctors have kept him under observation after his admission to the hospital. According to party sources, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman suddenly fell ill during the Jamaat’s national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on July 19. After the rally, he was admitted to a private hospital in the capital. He was later discharged from the hospital but is undergoing follow-up. As part of the follow-up treatment, an angiogram was performed at a private hospital in the capital on Tuesday (July 29). Doctors said that he had been diagnosed with a block in three main blood vessels of his heart.
