Jamaat Ameer in Parliament House
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has entered Parliament House to take oath. They entered through Gate No. 6 of Parliament House at 10:50 am today, Tuesday (February 17). Earlier, the vehicles of newly elected members of parliament started entering from 9 am. According to tradition, BNP, as the majority party, will be sworn in first. Accordingly, BNP members of parliament are going to take oath this morning.
Meanwhile, extensive security arrangements have been seen in and around Parliament House on the occasion of the oath-taking ceremony. The elected members are being shown their national identity cards. Incidentally, BNP leaders are entering Parliament House after 15 consecutive years. BNP boycotted the two elections of 2014 and 2018 and participated in the 2018 election but boycotted the vote at noon, alleging rigging.
