Jamaat Ameer in Dhaka to attend Hadi’s funeral
Convenor of Inqilab Manch and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has cut short his scheduled London visit to attend the funeral of Shaheed Osman Hadi. He landed at Dhaka International Airport this Saturday (December 20) morning. The Jamaat Ameer himself gave this information in a post on his verified Facebook page.
In it, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman wrote, ‘I have cut short my London visit to attend the funeral of Shaheed Osman Hadi and reached Dhaka this morning. Alhamdulillah. I went straight from the airport to see Shaheed Osman Hadi. I spoke to his family members; but I do not know the language to comfort this moment of grief. May Allah Almighty grant patience and solace to this family and all the countrymen.’
He also wrote, ‘Shaheed Osman Hadi does not belong to any party or opinion – he is a symbol of the sovereignty of this country. I urge everyone to rise above party and opinion and attend his funeral today. It is the responsibility of all of us to pay the highest tribute to this heroic son of the country. It is also the responsibility of all of us to build the Bangladesh of his dreams.’ At the end of the post, the Jamaat Ameer wrote, ‘May Shaheed Osman Hadi be a symbol of our unity. May Almighty Allah accept his martyrdom and accept him as a guest of Jannatul Firdous. Amen.’
