Israeli bombing in Damascus, Syria shakes local TV channel
Israel has carried out airstrikes in the capital Damascus for the third day in a row, attacking Syria. The attack targeted the area around the Syrian Defense Ministry and the presidential palace, killing several people. Many others were also injured. The moment of the attack was caught on live camera. At the time of the Israeli bombing, a news anchor was reading the news on a local TV channel. She jumped out of her chair in fear as the bomb hit. However, the TV room was shattered, so the bombing and the Israeli aircraft were caught on camera. A building collapsed in an instant after the bomb hit. At the same time, the entire sky became cloudy with black smoke. Basically, the situation in southern Syria is dire due to the three-way conflict between government forces, Bedouin militias and local Druze fighters. The fighting that began on Sunday has killed 203 people so far. Of the dead, 93 were government forces. The rest are Bedouin and Druze. Despite the ceasefire, clashes are still ongoing in various parts of Sweida. Access to all important areas of the affected city has been closed. The administration is sending more troops from Hama and Homs provinces to rescue the trapped soldiers. Many areas are without electricity. The Syrian administration has declared a ceasefire in the region. However, Israel is attacking the conflict-affected areas. Tel Aviv said that this operation is to protect the minority Druze community. The southern city of Sweida is the largest home of the Druze community. The Netanyahu administration has always been vocal about their protection.
