    Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon amid ceasefire, 28 injured

    The ceasefire is ongoing. Meanwhile, the Israeli military has carried out airstrikes in Lebanon. In which at least 28 people were injured.

    The Anadolu and Reuters news agencies reported this information in separate reports on Wednesday.

    The report said that 24 people were injured in an Israeli airstrike in Nabatieh, one of the main cities in southern Lebanon, according to the country’s Health Ministry. In addition, four people were injured in another attack in the neighboring city of Zawtar.

    Israel claims that it targeted a vehicle belonging to Lebanon’s powerful armed group Hezbollah.

    Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack and called it another violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. Mikati also spoke with US General Jasper Jeffers, who chairs the committee appointed to monitor the ceasefire.

    Mikati’s office said in a statement that the Lebanese leader called for strong pressure on Israel to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire in accordance with international law.

    Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that an Israeli military drone fired a guided missile at a pickup truck on the road near the Al-Rawdat school in Nabatieh al-Fawqa. The attack destroyed the vehicle and burned a car parked on the road, injuring several civilians passing through the area.
