Israel strikes Syrian military headquarters!
The Israeli military said it struck the entrance to the Syrian military headquarters in the capital Damascus on Wednesday (July 16). Two Syrian security sources told Reuters that the Israeli attack also targeted the Defense Ministry in the country’s capital. Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli military’s statement came shortly after explosions were heard in the Syrian capital. The Israeli military said separately that it was attacking the Druze-majority city of Sweida in southern Syria and was prepared for “various scenarios.” Earlier, Syria’s state news agency reported that Israel had carried out drone strikes targeting the city, causing civilian casualties. The attack came after clashes between armed groups and government forces in Sweida broke out on Wednesday despite a ceasefire agreement on Tuesday.
