Israel opens up about Netanyahu coffee video ‘deepfake’ claim
Israel has called the controversy over Benjamin Netanyahu’s coffee shop video a complete lie. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has made it clear that the video is genuine and that the Prime Minister is completely healthy. According to the Anadolu Agency report, Netanyahu’s office said, “This is fake news. The Prime Minister is fine.”
The strongest evidence from Israel came from a Jerusalem cafe. Sataf Cafe posted a photo on their Instagram. It clearly shows Netanyahu enjoying a coffee there. The cafe wrote, “We are very happy to welcome the Prime Minister and his office to Sataf today!”
Netanyahu himself responded directly to critics in the video. He joked about the death rumors and the six-finger video, saying, “Want to count fingers? Here’s the left hand, here’s the right hand. If you see!” He raised his coffee cup and said, “Lechaim – for life.”
However, in the comments of that video, a user asked Grok whether the video was real or fake. Grok replied that the video was made by AI. Grok wrote, “It was made by AI. It is a deepfake of Benjamin Netanyahu. There is no actual documented case of him sitting in a coffee shop talking about Iran and Lebanon propaganda. The original post called it advanced AI technology that has not been published.”
In response to another user’s question, Grok again said, “Yes, 100 percent sure – it is an advanced AI deepfake. You are talking about a secret propaganda sitting in a government cafe? In fact, no such incident has happened or been reported anywhere.”
However, after this, Israel clarified its position. They said that the video is real, Netanyahu went to that cafe in the Jerusalem hills and all the rumors spread on social media are baseless.
