Israel has resumed airstrikes in Gaza
Israel has resumed airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. According to international media Al-Jazeera, the Zionist forces carried out the attack on Sunday (October 19) in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Al-Jazeera reported that Israeli media outlets are reporting attacks in Rafah and various areas in southern Gaza. Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Katz and military officials were discussing the ongoing situation by phone.
Israel’s state broadcaster reported that the attack was carried out after an “exchange of fire” with Hamas fighters.
Israeli media claimed that the operation was carried out in response to “terrorist activity” in the Rafah area of southern Gaza.
Israeli media also reported that two Israeli soldiers were killed in an explosion on a military vehicle in Rafah.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Liberation Movement Hamas has strongly rejected the recent allegations by the US State Department in a statement. The US has claimed that Hamas is violating the ceasefire agreement and is ‘preparing for an imminent attack’.
In the statement, Hamas said that the US statement is fully in line with the Israeli occupation’s misleading propaganda and that it creates a political cover for Israel’s ongoing organized crime and aggression.
Hamas claimed that the reality is completely different. They alleged that Israel itself is forming, arming and financing armed criminal groups involved in the killing, kidnapping of Palestinian civilians, looting of aid trucks and theft of property.
The statement also said that the involvement of the Israeli occupation forces in these crimes has already been proven through reports and videos published in their own media.
Hamas said that work is underway to identify and prosecute these criminal groups through legal processes in cooperation with the Gaza Police Force and the local population in order to ensure the safety and security of ordinary citizens and their property.
The organization called on the United States to stop repeating misleading statements about Israeli occupation and to bring Tel Aviv to bear on violations of the ceasefire agreement. At the end of the statement, Hamas reiterated its commitment to protecting the security of the Palestinian people and preventing organized aggression and internal instability.
