Israel continues Gaza attacks despite Trump’s ceasefire announcement

US President Donald Trump said in an announcement on Wednesday (October 8) that “Hamas and Israel have agreed to establish a ceasefire.” Meanwhile, despite the US president’s announcement, Israeli forces continued their attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The US president said on his social media account Truth Social that Hamas and Israel had agreed to implement the first phase of his 20-point peace plan.
He said, “I am very proud to announce that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to implement the first phase of our peace plan.”
However, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that despite Trump’s announcement, Israeli warplanes attacked the western part of Gaza City. The shells fired from the aircraft hit a house in the Al-Shati refugee camp. In addition, Israeli soldiers detonated a car bomb near several houses in the Sabra area, south of Gaza City. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties in the attack.
Incidentally, last month, Donald Trump announced a 20-point peace plan for Gaza. The Palestinian Liberation Organization Hamas has responded somewhat positively to it. And it is reported that Israel has already accepted it.
It is worth noting that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel claims that 1,219 people were killed in the incident. 251 people were taken hostage. 47 of them are still in Gaza. However, the Israeli forces claim that 25 of them are no longer alive. Meanwhile, the country’s soldiers have been carrying out atrocities in Gaza since the day Hamas attacked Israel.
