Israel bans loudspeakers on call to prayer
Israeli mosques have been ordered not to use loudspeakers to call to prayer. The country’s National Security Minister, far-right leader Itamar Ben-Giv’i, issued this order.
This information has come to light in a report by the Times of Israel.
The far-right leader has asked the police to directly stop the call to prayer when it is given on loudspeakers.
Israeli media outlet Channel 12 reported that if a mosque is seen using loudspeakers, the police will be able to enter it. At the same time, the extremist Itamar Ben-Giv’i has also authorized the seizure of speakers from those mosques.
In a post on X, the minister said that he was ‘proud’ to introduce the policy. As a result, it will put an end to irrational words from mosques, which have become a danger to the residents of Israel.
However, Israeli opposition leaders have spoken out against Itamar Ben-Giv’i’s ban. Among them is Gilad Kariv of the Labor Party. He wrote in the ex, “Ben Givi has threatened the security of Israel. Ben Givi will not stop until he lights a match in the barrels.”
Hades-Ta’al leader Ahmed Tibi also strongly condemned the ban, saying, “Ben Givi has built his base on hatred and oppression of Arabs.”
He warned, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is responsible for the actions of the riotous minister.”
