Islam and worship can never be one: Charmonai Pir
The Ameer of Islamic Movement Bangladesh, Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, has said that Islam and worship can never be one. This is the reality. Worship is different, completely their religious matter. And Eid is a matter of joy for Muslims. It can never be one with it.
He said these things in response to questions from journalists after a public meeting organized at the Habiganj Municipality premises on Tuesday (October 7) afternoon.
He said, ‘We have talked about the PR system. We will continue to demand until the end. Even then, if the government does not agree, then we have talked about a referendum. We want the government to consider our views through a referendum. Then, depending on the situation in the country, we will take action.’
Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, ‘We had also demanded the PR system in the 2008 elections. This is for the welfare of the country and humanity. Because we have seen time and again that the current election system creates a fascist government. By creating a black money racket, people do not get an environment to vote here. And most voters do not get their votes evaluated. Every voter will be evaluated through PR elections. There will be no possibility of forming a fascist government. Representatives of every party will get a chance to go to parliament.’
Islami Andolan Bangladesh District President Mohib Uddin Ahmed Sohel presided over the mass meeting organized under the PR system demanding necessary reforms in the national elections, the legal basis of the July Charter and visible trial of criminals and murderers. Mufti Tajul Islam, Mahmudul Hasan, Moin Uddin Khan Tanvir, Abdul Mosabbir Runu, Solaiman Gazi and others spoke at the meeting under the direction of General Secretary Shamsul Huda.
Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim introduced the candidates of Islami Andolan Bangladesh for the 4 seats of Habiganj in the meeting. The candidates are Habiganj-1 Mufti Tajul Islam, Habiganj-2 Mufti Sheikh Hadisur Rahman, Habiganj-3 Mohib Uddin Ahmed Sohel, Habiganj-4 Kamal Uddin. A colorful procession was taken out before the rally.
