Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP’s nominated candidate for Dhaka-6 constituency with the symbol of a sheaf of rice, Engineer Ishraq Hossain, has officially started his election campaign and public relations activities.
Today, Thursday (January 22), at a road meeting at Sadarghat More (Batar More) in Ward No. 37 under Kotwali Police Station in the capital, he said, “I have not held any responsibility before, nor have I held any important government or organizational position. So I have not had the opportunity to take any exam. I will tell you, you can give me a chance. InshaAllah, I will not disappoint you in any way.”
Ishraq Hossain said, “My father, the late Sadek Hossain Khoka, was a colleague and acquaintance of many of you and was a four-time elected member of parliament from this area. As his son, I seek your support in this election.” I want to work towards re-establishing democracy, restoring the people’s voting rights and building a strong state. Before the official campaign began, Ishraq Hossain visited the capital’s Jurain Cemetery around 10 am. There, he paid homage to the grave of his father, the late Dhaka Mayor Sadeq Hossain Khoka. After that, he started his election campaign by walking from the Banglabazar intersection area.
