Is Rahul Gandhi losing the leadership of the India Alliance?

The India Alliance led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has emerged as a formidable opponent to the Narendra Modi-led NDA alliance. The latest elections have also proven this. The authoritarian Modi alliance has failed to secure a single majority this time. But within a year, a crisis has arisen over the leadership of the India Alliance. It is being said that Rahul Gandhi may not lead this alliance.

RJD founder and veteran politician Lalu Prasad Yadav today said that West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee should lead this alliance. He said, “We support Mamata. She should lead the alliance. It doesn’t matter what the Congress thinks.”

Earlier this month, Mamata had said that everyone should go along with her. She was asked whether she would lead the alliance or not. In response, she said that she would definitely do so if given the responsibility. However, she believes that the alliance is running well. She does not want to go out of Bengal.

After that, talks about a new leadership began. In the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi wanted to put pressure on the Modi government on the Adani issue. But the Trinamool Congress said that it was more important to discuss the price of goods, unemployment and the unrest in Manipur. After the Congress, the largest party, Trinamool and Samajwadi Party, often did not participate in the India Alliance dispute.

The main opposition party, Congress, has 99 seats in the Lok Sabha, which is double that of 2019. However, they are under some pressure from their partners due to their losses in Haryana and Maharashtra.

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had said that Mamata Banerjee has a partner in the India Alliance, and she should play a more important role.
