IS claims responsibility for blast at Chinese restaurant in Kabul

The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the blast at a Chinese restaurant in the Afghan capital Kabul. The organization called the attack a suicide attack in a statement. Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Wednesday (January 21).
It said that the attacker entered the restaurant wearing an explosive vest. Later, an explosion was detonated there. IS said that the attack was mainly targeting Chinese citizens.
The organization claimed that the attack was carried out because of the ongoing aggression against Uyghur Muslims in China. The explosion occurred at a restaurant in the Shahr-e-Nao area, which is considered the safest in the Afghan capital, last Monday (January 19). Seven people, including a Chinese citizen, were killed. In addition, 13 people, including a child, were injured.
