Iranian ballistic missile hits Jerusalem

An Iranian ballistic missile has hit the Israeli-occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem, Al Jazeera reported. According to a report published on Monday (March 2), one of the new missiles launched by Iran hit Jerusalem directly.
A journalist from the scene said that warning sirens sounded before the attack in West Jerusalem. A missile hit there shortly after. Israel occupied East Jerusalem after the Six-Day Arab-Israeli War in 1967. Although the Palestinians own the holy land, all administrative power in Jerusalem is currently in the hands of the Israelis.
The holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, known as the first Qibla in Islam, is located here. The city of Jerusalem is considered the holiest place for Muslims after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.
