Iran capable of waging a ‘terrible war’ for at least six months

A senior official in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that Iran is capable of waging a war of its current size and scale for ‘at least’ another six months.
“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are capable of waging this intense war at its current pace for at least six months,” IRGC spokesman Ali Mohammad Naini said in a statement, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency.
AFP reported that Naini’s statement was in stark contrast to recent assessments by US President Donald Trump. Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US and Israeli campaign against Iran has been highly successful.
This week, the US president said, “We are winning this war by a huge margin. We have crushed their entire ‘satanic empire.'” The IRGC is one of Iran’s most powerful and influential institutions. In addition to military and intelligence operations, it also has extensive influence in politics, education and the economy.
