Investigation into Shaheed Nafiz’s murder in final stage: Prosecution
The investigation into the murder of Shaheed Golam Nafiz at Farmgate during the July Uprising is in its final stage. The state party informed this information at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 today, Sunday (September 7). Later, the tribunal ordered the completion of the investigation into the case by September 28. Additional Superintendent of Police Sachin Maulik, who was arrested in this case, was produced before the tribunal today. Nafiz passed his SSC from Banani Vidyaniketan School and College and was admitted to Class XI at the Naval College in Dhaka. At the time of the incident, Nafiz had a Bangladesh flag tied to his head. A rickshaw puller who was shot in the leg died on the way to the hospital. In addition, the tribunal has ordered the completion of the investigation against 15 accused including Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the Wasim murder case in Chittagong by October 12. On the same day, Shaheed Anas’ mother testified in the case of killing 6 people in Chankharpul during the July Uprising. At that time, he tearfully demanded justice for his son’s murder. Today, a total of 4 people are scheduled to testify in this case. So far, 8 people have testified in this case. In addition, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 is taking testimony in the murder case of Shaheed Abu Sayeed. Earlier, Shaheed Abu Sayeed’s father testified in this case. He told the tribunal that he wants to see his son’s murder trial while he is still alive.
