Internet service not shut down in Gopalganj: Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications said that no internet service was shut down or disrupted in Gopalganj. In a statement on Wednesday (July 16), the ministry said that the government’s position is clear about not shutting down the internet under any circumstances. The government is determined to keep mobile and broadband internet services uninterrupted anywhere in the country. It said that the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has not issued any instructions to shut down or disrupt mobile internet in Gopalganj or any other place in the country. It is pointless to question it in light of the current government’s policy decisions. It is believed that the autocrats and their allies are spreading such misinformation with malicious intentions. It is worth noting that the statement also advised individuals and institutions to be careful before spreading misinformation and disinformation to maintain the overall situation in the country and maintain order in public life.
