Information advisor reveals who will influence the country’s politics in the next 20 years

Information and Broadcasting Advisor Md. Nahid Islam has commented that the youth will have an influence on the country’s politics and society for the next 20 years. He said this in a special interview with news agency BSS.

The information advisor said, “The young generation that emerged through the massive mass uprising will greatly influence the state, politics and society for at least the next two decades through their thoughts, ideas and actions.”

Nahid, who led the anti-discrimination student movement during the July mass uprising, said that despite lack of experience and other limitations, the youth want to contribute to the country in every possible way. The whole world is now witnessing how the young generation of Bangladesh is contributing to the reconstruction of the country after the fall of a long-standing dictatorship.

Nahid said that the youth are ready to take responsibility and prepare themselves for the future. The trust and confidence of the people placed in them will be strengthened in the coming days.

Nahid gave the interview on the eve of the celebration of the two-month-long Youth Festival 2025, sponsored by the Office of the Chief Adviser, across the country in memory of the martyrs of the July mass uprising, calling for building national unity.

The information adviser said, “The sacrifice and resistance of the youth in 2024 to overthrow fascism has set an inspiring example not only for Bangladesh but also for the entire world.”

He said, “We ourselves are representatives of that young society. We want to develop the young generation as a political generation that will lead the future Bangladesh.”
