Independent Palestinian state will be a platform for the destruction of Israel: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he wants peace with the Palestinians. However, he stated that any future independent Palestinian state would be a platform for the destruction of Israel. Therefore, he said that sovereign power should remain with Israel for security reasons. According to a Reuters report, the Israeli Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Donald Trump at the White House on Monday (July 7). Netanyahu said that on October 7, 2023, an attack was launched on Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Strip is controlled by Hamas. From this, it can be imagined what the Palestinians could do if they get a state. At this time, reporters asked Trump whether the formation of a two-state solution was the solution? Trump replied, “I don’t know.” Then Netanyahu said, “I think the Palestinians should have all the power to govern themselves, but not any power to threaten us. That means sovereign power – like overall security – will always be in our hands.” He also said, after the October 7 attack, people are saying, the Palestinians have a state. And the Hamas state is Gaza. But what have they done there? They didn’t build it beautifully, they built bunkers, terror tunnels there. The Israeli prime minister said, “Then they massacred our people, raped women, beheaded men, attacked our kibbutzim and committed horrific murders. As was seen in World War II and the Holocaust during the Nazis. So now people will not easily say, let’s give them another state. Because that will be a platform to destroy Israel. Netanyahu said, “We will make peace with our Palestinian neighbors who do not want to destroy us. And that peace will be one where our security—the power of sovereign security—will always be in our hands.” Stating that a Palestinian state should never be allowed to be established, he added, “Now many will say, ‘This is not a full state, this is not a state, this is that.’ It does not matter to us. We have sworn—never again. Never again—meaning now. This will never be allowed to happen again.”
