Imam gets emotional after receiving motorcycle gift
He has been leading the local mosque for 23 years. This time, he received a bike (motorcycle) as a gift from his devotees in recognition of his devotion to the rules and responsibilities. Maulana Zahirul Islam of Baitus Salam Jame Masjid located in Dakshin Bakharpur, Chandra Union No. 12, Chandpur Sadar Upazila, has dedicated himself to running the mosque and providing guidance to devotees in religious life for more than two decades. In recognition of his long-term service, local devotees jointly collected money and gifted him a motorcycle at the initiative of Dubai expatriate Sabuj Miji.
After Friday prayers last Friday (September 26), the keys of the motorcycle were officially handed over to the imam in the presence of devout devotees including Mosque Committee President Moktar Ahmed Master.
An emotional Imam Zahirul Islam said after receiving the motorcycle, “This love from the devotees will encourage me to perform my duties with more sincerity.” Locals said that he not only performed his duties as an imam, but was also active in teaching moral and social values to the youth of the area. Therefore, this honor was given to him as a token of gratitude.
