Illegal petrol pump fined Tk 90,000 in Pabna for selling petrol
A mobile court has fined Tk 90,000 after conducting a raid on the temporary petrol pump of Jamaat-backed UP Chairman Jahangir Alam Haji in Hemayetpur Union of Pabna Sadar Upazila on charges of illegally selling petrol.
The raid was conducted on Saturday (March 7) afternoon based on confidential information from the National Security Intelligence Service (NSI). At that time, the brother of the Hemayetpur Union Chairman was fined Tk 90,000 for illegally storing fuel oil.
According to district administration sources, UP Chairman Jahangir Alam alias Alam Haji had been doing business by setting up a temporary petrol pump adjacent to the Jama Masjid in Islampur village. Based on confidential information, a mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Abdul Alim conducted a raid there.
At that time, they stored a large amount of fuel oil in plastic tanks in a risky environment with widespread irregularities in the temporary pump. The district administration also stated that the pump authorities failed to provide legal approval and necessary documents for storing and selling petrol.
