Husband surrenders after killing wife by calling 999

A husband named Rakib Hasan (22) has surrendered by calling 999 after killing his wife by pressing a pillow on her in Kashimpur, Gazipur. The deceased wife’s name is Jamie (19). The arrested Rakib (22) is the son of Jasim Uddin of Latifpur area of Bogra district. Jamie is the daughter of deceased Zahidul Islam of Michri Gola village of Shetabganj police station in Dinajpur. She was arrested from the scene in Chakraborty area of Kashimpur on Friday (August 8) night. Confirming the matter, Kashimpur police station OC Md. Moniruzzaman said that husband Rakib Hasan first pressed his wife Jamie to death by pressing a pillow on her. Later, after confirming her death, he himself called the national emergency service 999. On receiving the information, Kashimpur police station reached the spot and arrested her and brought her to the police station. It is believed that Rakib killed his wife due to a family dispute. He also said that the victim’s family has been informed about the incident. Further legal action will be taken when the family members arrive.
