Husband goes missing after allegedly burying wife alive

The accused husband has absconded after a video of him attempting to bury his sick wife alive in Sherpur went viral on social media. The incident took place in Madhyapara village of Sribardi upazila of the district on Friday (August 8). Anwar Zahid, OC of Sribardi police station in Sherpur, said that the accused’s name is Khalilur Rahman. Khalilur had been taking care of his sick, bedridden wife alone since the marriage of his children. He was suffering from mental unrest due to being taken care of in his old age. Due to this, he tried to drag his wife out of the house on Friday morning and bury her in the courtyard of the house. After watching the video, the accused Khalilur Rahman fled when the police went to the spot at night.
